3.75 kWp Hybrid Solar PV with Battery Backup – Residence, Welmilla

Hybrid solar system for a home in Welmilla, combining LG and JA Solar panels, Solis and Victron inverters and a 2.5 kWh battery for backup power.

Scope of work

Site survey and load assessment, design of a hybrid system combining an existing LG 310 Wp array with new JA Solar 550 Wp modules, supply and installation of a Solis 5 kW inverter and a Victron 3 kVA inverter/charger with a 2.5 kWh battery, DC/AC protection and earthing, testing and commissioning, and handover with user training.

About this project

This project expanded an existing rooftop solar system at a home in Welmilla into a hybrid installation with battery backup, lowering electricity bills and keeping essential loads running during power cuts.

System

  • 5 × LG 310 Wp modules (existing) and 4 × JA Solar 550 Wp modules (new) – 3.75 kWp in total
  • Solis 5 kW inverter
  • Victron 3 kW inverter/charger for backup supply
  • 2.5 kWh lithium battery

What we delivered

  • Load assessment and design to integrate the two module types safely, on separate strings matched to the inverter inputs
  • Roof-mounted array with corrosion-resistant mounting
  • DC and AC protection, surge protection, and earthing
  • Testing, commissioning and handover with monitoring setup
