Who we are

Power Grid Solutions (Pvt) Ltd, No: 318B, Bandaranayaka Mawatha, Katubedda, Moratuwa. 10400, Sri Lanka, is the controller of the personal data described here under the Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022.

What we collect and why

  • Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional) and message, so that we can answer your enquiry (your request, and our legitimate interest in replying). We send you one confirmation email. Enquiries are kept in our company mailbox for up to 2 years, then deleted.
  • Visit counting (Reach): for each page view we record the page, the date, the type of device and the website you came from, together with a code calculated from your IP address and browser that changes every day. The code is deleted the next day; we keep only daily totals, for 13 months. We use no cookies and cannot follow you from one day to the next (our legitimate interest in knowing how the website is used).
  • Security: to stop abuse of the contact form, a scrambled code of your IP address and email address is kept for up to 48 hours. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, page, time).
  • Clients who give a testimonial: the details you enter and your logo, published only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Google and other services

The map (Google Maps) and YouTube videos load only when you click them; Google then receives your IP address and applies its own privacy policy. Links to WhatsApp, Facebook and LinkedIn take you to those services.

Where data is stored

Our website and email are hosted by LankaHost Web Solutions (Pvt) Ltd. Their servers may be located outside Sri Lanka. Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for a limited period under its own policy. When you click a map or a video, data goes to Google (United States). We take reasonable steps to make sure such transfers are protected as the Act requires.

Your rights

You may ask to access your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, withdraw your consent, or object to its use. Write to info@powergrid.lk; we reply within 21 days. You may also complain to the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka.
